Trick or Treat Studios

Just received my "Water Zombie" mask from Trick or Treat Studios and I'm truly delighted!!! PUMPKINROT has mentioned these guys a few times and since I'm planning my "Haunted Forest", I decided to order one. This mask is REALLY sturdy and REALLY scary. I plan on ordering some more--Chris at Trick or Treat Studios says they will have the 2011 line available for pre-order by 22 January. Good stuff, guys!

Haunted Houses

Urban and rural photography comprises one of my Deviant Art collections and I've come across some great shots of places that just really tickle my fancy in regards to Halloween...I mean, some of these places just beg to have a few eerie props set up!

We Are In Danger of Losing Hauntcast!

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but the 'create for Halloween' bug is really starting to kick in for me! I was out walking the woods, trying to figure out where I might set stuff up for my haunt, what trails to extend and suchlike. So, when I came back in, I sat right down at the computer, turned on the Hauntcast show (for the second time!) and started looking at all my favorite Halloween sites. This show is a Halloween aficionado's dream come true. For those of you who don't know about it, GO CHECK IT OUT NOW Those of you who do know about it are probably aware that to help defray costs, the show now costs a dollar to listen to. (geez, a whole dollar?) Unbelievably, there are some people who apparently object to this astronomical expense gouging a whole in their pockets (geez, a whole dollar?) and instead are downloading all of the free past shows, not subscribing to the new ones, eating up the Hauntcast band width which costs the show even more money. So, I know the spirit of giving has departed along with December but let's get a little bit real here, folks. The people who put this terrific show together give a great deal of their time, energy and their own hard-earned bucks to spread a little Halloween cheer around. I say we need to give a little bit back...go ahead and splurge--sign up for a subscription! It's only a dollar a show (geez, a whole dollar?) If you can dig deeper, go ahead and get yourself a very cool T-shirt to show even more support for a fabulous Halloween tradition that we are in danger of losing.

I've decided that my excuse for not sculpting much recently is due to my spending so much time on Deviant Art sifting through the thousands of submissions received each day trying to find those artists whose works have not yet been discovered but definitely should be! Ok, so granted, I'm only responsible for the Sculpture Gallery, but I've come across some wonderful artwork from a multitude of disciplines and I just haven't been able to resist collecting it! Here are a few of my favorites that I've placed in my "Graveyard and Memorial Sculpture" collection. There is some gorgeous photography here and just might provide some inspiration for those Halloween gravestones and statues you're thinking about making!
