Grieving

Haven't been around much for the past couple weeks--been caring for a very special and beloved pet who lost the final battle and is now just alive in my thoughts. I'm the kind of person who loves my 'animals' and prefers their company over and above that of most human animals. I've been having a very difficult time coping with this, partially because it came out of nowhere; he was only 8 years old--way too young for this; and within two weeks, my little guy was gone from some kind of virulent cancer. Still don't have the final test results in and after nearly $2,000 dollars and several specialist vets, I still don't know what the hell happened. So, I am grieving a lot and just wanted all of you to know why I've not been commenting much lately. (Pictures taken by my daughter.)

  2. I'm so sorry Pam :-( Your daughter made really beautiful pictures of Billy. He was a very handsome cat :-)
It takes a while before you can let him go... Take your time. Now maybe he got angelwings and flying high in the sky and visit you in your dreams and when you feel lonely or sad...
    Love ya! xoxo Donna

  4. Pam, I am so sorry o hear of your loss. He was beautiful. Pet give us such a great quality of life that those without are really missing out. Even though it is very sad, you should be happy knowing he had such a caring "mom". He was a lucky guy to have you.

  5. Oh Pam,I am so sorry to hear the news.
I too have a huge love for animals. I lost my dog several years ago. I had her for 12 yrs. I still have her favorite stuffed animal and her collar and many cherished photos. It isn't hard to see how those little furry ones make thier way into our hearts as they love us so unconditionally.

  10. Ohh Pam I am SO sorry. *SUPERHUGS* What an absolutely beautiful kitty. My heart is deeply with you. I am so, so sorry. Your baby is a true vessel of unconditional love and you will always be surrounded by it and the entwining around your legs, even if you cannot physically feel it. You will always feel that in your heart. <3

  11. I am so sorry for your loss of your very beautiful kitty. His passing at only 8 years old seems so unfair. Those are truly beautiful pictures your daughter took of your special family member.

  12. I have been absent of late and just saw this blog, not to open any wounds but I am sorry for losing your cat. Cats are special animals and I actually wonder if they pick us rather than we pick them. Dogs, whom I actually am fond of, seem to need us, but cats seem to know that you need them.

Poe is 8 now, and I would be devastated if I lost him or Lenore, who is now about 3 or 4.

Poe once wrote, "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat."

They become best friends, allies and critics.

Also your photos of him, especially with the statue of the lion really depict a noble feline friend.

    Hang in there.
